If you want to eat them raw, make sure to soak them into the water in order to remove any dirt. After you have soaked the leaves for about 5 minutes, put them into a colander and run the water again on it to make sure that no dirt is on the leaves. At this point, you can either use a salad spinner to drain all the water from the leaves. If however, you don’t have a salad spinner, you can just spread the leaves onto a clean cloth and roll the cloth onto itself, that way you should drain most of the water by squeezing the leaves into the cloth.
